The Verses Project

It is with great JOY that I can direct you to the official launch of ‘The Verses Project‘ website!
Some great friends of ours, along with my husband and I, have been writing music for the past year or so using verses straight from the Bible in order to help us and others memorize the Word of God and store it up in our hearts and minds.
What has resulted is an amazingly beautiful and dynamic collection of songs that have not only encouraged me to know and memorize more scripture, but are constantly being sung from the backseat by my children as well.
It is a breathtaking thing, hearing the Word of God being sung to you by your own children.
This has been such a huge blessing to me, and I hope and pray that it will be to you all as well!!
Each week, a new song will be posted that you can listen to on the site or download for FREE.  You can also sign up for the mailing list and be notified each week when a new song (or two) is posted.  Spread the word and start making some playlists for your home or the car or the gym or WHEREVER!   You will be amazed at how these verses will stick with you and comfort or strengthen you in the moments when you need them most.
Huge thanks to Joel Limpic, Ryan Gikas, my husband Chris Clark, Dustin Ragland, Jamie Cochran, and all the others who have helped organize and contribute to this effort.  Also, a big thanks to Jesse Owen and Kyle Turman for the gorgeous website!
Visit the site here and tell your friends to check it out as well!  :)

  1. I don't often comment on your blog, but read every new post. I was brought to tears by your music. Beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing your time and talent. Much luck and happiness to you all!

  2. Oh my goodness! Ever since you posted some of your songs years ago (especially Weight of Joy) I've been hoping to hear more of your music. Now I can't wait to listen to what you, your husband, and your friends have written and performed. SO EXCITED! What a great project!

  3. thank you ladies! i also wanted to mention that if you wanted to hear more of a particular person's songs, you can click the hash tag with their name at the very bottom of their entry, and it will show you all of their songs on the site!

  4. I'm so excited by this! My kindergartner learns scripture this way at school (and I along with him, by default!) and I'm excited to hear more! Especially in a less kid-like fashion. (Not that there's anything wrong with that…you know…) Never mind.
Excited! :) Sounds like just what I need!

  5. This is so awesome and beautiful! Thanks for sharing!

Question though, I'm probably just a total dork but I can't seem to download, only listen online. Is it an either/or thing depending on the song? I'm probably just doing something wrong so I'll have my hubby check it out when he gets home but I just thought I'd ask. :)

  6. hi jessica! i noticed the site does something a little weird when you just click the 'download' button next to the song you want, but if you press the control button and then click the link, (or maybe if you just right click it on a PC), then some options should come up for what you want to do with the file… let me know if it still is not working for you and I'll try to get some more answers! :) thanks for the heads up!

  7. Emery, just now saw this post – thankyouthankyouthankyou!

I checked out the webpage and downloaded ALL.

I am humming one of the tunes right now and the project is awesome and a real blessing.

  8. Hi Emery – I've been following your blog since Ezra was 1 but never commented and I just wanted to say that I LOVE this!! Thank you and everyone else who contributes. You can never hear too much of the word and this is just beautiful!
